Ford's Hybrid Sales Soar While EVs Struggle in January

Ford's electric vehicle sales dropped by 10.9% in January compared to the previous year, but the company experienced a 4.3% increase in overall vehicle sales, largely due to a surge in hybrid model sales, which saw a 42.7% boost from January 2023. Consumer interest in all-electric models has leveled off, with some turning to hybrid vehicles as a more affordable and convenient option. Ford has been adjusting its production and investments in response to the changing market dynamics, including scaling back on its electric F-150 Lightning pickup and cutting jobs at the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center.
