Ford's February Sales Surge Driven by EVs and Hybrids

Ford Motor's U.S. sales surged 10.5% in February, driven by a 36.7% increase in hybrid vehicle sales and a 25.9% rise in electric vehicle (EV) sales. The F-150 Lightning pickup and Mustang Mach-E electric SUV were key contributors to the EV sales growth. Despite a 7.5% increase in gas-powered vehicle sales, Ford cut prices for the Mach-E in February and scaled back production at the Michigan Rouge Electric Vehicle Center. SUV sales also saw strong growth, with the Ford Edge and Ford Escape leading the segment. Overall, Ford brand vehicle sales rose 9% in February to 165,693 units, while Lincoln brand vehicle sales increased 38% to 8,499 units.
