UK Regulator Raises Concerns Over Adobe's $20 Billion Figma Acquisition

The UK's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has provisionally blocked Adobe's proposed $20 billion acquisition of Figma, a cloud-based product design platform. The CMA's investigation found that the deal would harm competition in the software markets for product design, image editing, and illustration, as Figma is considered one of Adobe's biggest competitors. The CMA is considering remedies such as prohibiting the merger entirely or divesting overlapping operations. The EU has also issued a formal antitrust complaint against Adobe, and the US Department of Justice is reportedly preparing to sue to block the deal.
