"Climate Change's Growing Threat: Worsening Air Quality and Health Risks"

A new study shows that climate change is amplifying wildfires, leading to increased smoke that poses higher risks of heart and lung disease for over 125 million Americans by the middle of the century. Despite this, there are few effective ways to protect communities from wildfire smoke, as it is challenging to anticipate, address, and keep out of people's homes. The worsening air quality is attributed to increased levels of ozone and more consequential heat and drought, making wildfires worse and causing more smoke to reach a larger portion of the United States.
