"Water-Intensive Companies Struggle to Meet Sustainability Goals"

Many major corporations in water-intensive industries are striving to improve their water stewardship as climate change exacerbates water-related risks. However, a recent analysis by sustainability nonprofit Ceres reveals that out of 72 assessed companies, few are on track to meet their 2030 water conservation targets. Companies such as Coca-Cola, General Mills, and Amazon have set goals but have made limited progress towards achieving them. The rankings were based on factors like commitments to protect water quantity and quality, ecosystem preservation, and community access to water and sanitation. The report highlights the need for companies to do better in managing their water footprints and emphasizes the importance of reporting and accountability in driving meaningful change.
