Pfizer's Lung Cancer Drug Shows Remarkable 5-Year Survival Rates

A new lung cancer drug, lorlatinib, has shown unprecedented results in a phase 3 trial, significantly extending progression-free survival in patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer. The trial, presented at the American Society of Clinical Oncology meeting, revealed that 60% of patients treated with lorlatinib were still alive without disease progression after five years, compared to just 8% for those treated with the standard drug crizotinib. The findings offer new hope for patients with advanced lung cancer, particularly those with ALK-positive tumors.
