The Great Texan Migration: Californian Dream Attracts Masses

A growing number of Texans are choosing to make California their new home, with 42,279 Texans moving to the Golden State in 2022, according to data from the United States Census Bureau. One major factor driving this migration is the higher average salary in California compared to Texas. While Texas ranks 24th in the nation with an average salary of $57,300, California's average salary of $73,220 is the third highest in the country. However, despite the influx of Texans, California experienced a net loss of around 342,000 residents in 2022, with more than 102,000 Californians deciding to move to Texas in the same period.
