GSK Files Lawsuit Against Pfizer in US for RSV Vaccine Patent Infringement

GSK has filed a lawsuit against Pfizer in a US court, alleging that Pfizer's RSV vaccine, Abrysvo, infringes on GSK's patent rights for its own RSV shot, Arexvy. GSK claims that Pfizer's vaccine violates four of its patents related to the antigen used to combat the respiratory disease. Both vaccines were recently approved by the FDA for use in adults over 60, and the companies are competing to tap into the lucrative RSV vaccine market, which is projected to exceed $10 billion by 2030. Pfizer has stated that it is confident in its intellectual property position and will vigorously defend its right to bring Abrysvo to patients.
