The move comes ahead of a U.S. Senate hearing on online child sexual exploitation, where X's CEO Linda Yaccarino is scheduled to testify. Since Musk acquired the company, it has faced criticism for controversial posts and content moderation policies. X suspended 12.4 million accounts in 2023 for violating rules against child sexual exploitation, up from 2.3 million in 2022. The new Austin center will also focus on combating other harmful content.
