Severe storms wreak havoc on U.S. flights, causing cancellations and delays

Over 1,300 flights in and out of the Northeast have been canceled due to severe storms, with Newark Liberty International Airport experiencing the most disruptions. Thunderstorms and heavy rain have battered the region, causing flash floods in Pennsylvania that resulted in four deaths and three missing individuals. The storm system has also brought heavy rain to other parts of the Mid-Atlantic, with significant river flooding expected along the east coast of New York, New Jersey, and Delaware. A tornado watch has been issued for parts of several states, with the possibility of hail and strong winds.
