The Odyssey, Nolan’s three-hour epic shot entirely in Imax 70mm, opened at the BFI IMAX with £219,867 over a single-screen opening weekend—the biggest opening for any Imax venue in the UK and internationally—placing it atop the all-time BFI Imax box-office list and surpassing Star Wars: The Last Jedi; with more than 82,000 admissions, a 94% occupancy, and eight weeks of sold-out screenings, the film drew audiences from as far as Singapore, Los Angeles and Toronto, with additional dates expected due to demand.
