London’s BFI Imax, the UK’s largest screen, released another batch of tickets for Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey and they sold out in under 30 minutes amid surging demand and record presales that have helped push the film toward global box-office highs.
The Odyssey, Nolan’s three-hour epic shot entirely in Imax 70mm, opened at the BFI IMAX with £219,867 over a single-screen opening weekend—the biggest opening for any Imax venue in the UK and internationally—placing it atop the all-time BFI Imax box-office list and surpassing Star Wars: The Last Jedi; with more than 82,000 admissions, a 94% occupancy, and eight weeks of sold-out screenings, the film drew audiences from as far as Singapore, Los Angeles and Toronto, with additional dates expected due to demand.
