"Volcanic Glow Captures Weather Photographer of the Year Award"

Francisco Negroni of Chile has won the Standard Chartered Weather Photographer of the Year 2023 title for his photo of lenticular clouds illuminated by the lava inside the Villarrica volcano. The runner-up was Tran Tuan of Vietnam, while the winner of the Public Vote category was Fernando Braga of Brazil for his photo of lightning striking the Christ the Redeemer statue. Les Irwig of Australia won the mobile phone category, and Jamie McBean of the UK was the Young Weather Photographer of the Year. The competition highlighted the impact of climate change through its diverse and high-quality entries.
