"Study Links Microplastics to Increased Risk of Heart Attack and Stroke"

A study conducted in Naples found that people with microscopic plastic contamination in their blood vessels were nearly five times more likely to suffer a stroke, heart attack, or death from any cause over the following 34 months. While the findings do not conclusively prove that plastic particles drive strokes and heart attacks, there is evidence from animal and human cell research suggesting a potential link. The study highlights the potential life-threatening effects of plastic pollution on cardiovascular health and calls for greater awareness and action to reduce plastic production and pollution.
