Micron-Scale 3D Atlas Maps the Human Body, Revealing Hidden Details

Scientists unveil the Human Organ Atlas (HOA), created with hierarchical phase-contrast tomography (HiP-CT) at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility, delivering micrometer-scale, 3D images of ex vivo organs. With data from 54 donors across 87 organs and 363 datasets, HOA aims to democratize vast imaging resources for researchers, clinicians, educators, and AI development, enabling deeper disease insight and paving the way for future whole-body imaging at higher resolution.
