Tornado warning in effect for southern Grand Forks area and Polk/Mahnomen counties.

A tornado warning was issued for areas south and east of Greater Grand Forks as a severe thunderstorm capable of producing tornadoes was located near Mahnomen, Minnesota, according to the National Weather Service. The storm prompted a tornado warning for portions of southern Polk County.
