Trailblazing Black Female Pilot Completes Final Flight

Captain Theresa M. Claiborne, the first Black female pilot in the U.S. Air Force and a long-time United Airlines captain, has retired after 43 years of flying. Claiborne, who logged over 23,000 flight hours, plans to inspire young people to pursue their dreams and break barriers. She co-founded the Sisters of the Skies Foundation to support aspiring Black female pilots. United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby praised her impactful career and leadership.
