Missouri Woman Charged with Attempted Murder for Poisoning Husband's Smoothie

Sarah Scheffer of Missouri has been charged with attempted murder and armed criminal action after her husband reported experiencing symptoms of poisoning, which he suspected was caused by her. He found a bag labeled "Lily of the Valley" and a green bowl with its root in their home, and later discovered that she had been putting the toxic plant in his food and drinks. Scheffer admitted to the act, which was found to contain cardiac glycosides that can cause irregular heart rhythm, nausea, and other symptoms.
