South El Monte homeowner fatally stabs catalytic converter thief in driveway.

A man in his late 40s was fatally stabbed by a South El Monte homeowner after he and two other suspects attempted to steal a catalytic converter from a vehicle parked in the driveway of the home. The stabbing occurred after the resident exited the front door of the home and was confronted by the suspects. The homeowner was detained for questioning, while the other suspects fled the scene.
