AP-NORC Poll Reveals Widespread Experience of Extreme Weather

A new poll by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research shows that about 8 in 10 U.S. adults say they have personally felt the effects of extreme weather, such as extreme heat or drought, in the past five years, and most of them – 54% of the public overall – say what they experienced was at least partly a result of climate change. The poll also suggests that people are paying attention to climate change, with about half of U.S. adults saying they have grown more concerned about the changing climate in the last year, and a growing number saying they are talking about it. However, relatively few say they feel motivated when they talk about the issue.
