Michigan Wildfires Contained but Danger Remains High

Michigan is facing extreme wildfire conditions due to almost a month without significant rainfall, leaving vegetation on forest floors super-dry and ready to ignite. The majority of the state is facing "Extreme" or "Very High" fire danger, with low winds expected to increase in the coming days. The Department of Natural Resources is urging residents to avoid burning and follow prevention tips, including being careful with lawn-mowing, using extreme caution with campfires, and preparing cabins or cottages. The DNR has fought 193 wildfires so far this season, burning more than 3,000 acres.
