California Considers Banning Skittles and Other Popular Candies

A proposed California bill, AB 418, could ban the sale of food items containing toxic and dangerous chemicals such as Red Dye No. 3, Titanium Dioxide, Potassium Bromate, Brominated Vegetable Oil, or Propyl Paraben. These chemicals can cause significant health problems like increased risk of cancer, damage to the immune system, and behavioral issues in children. The bill aims to correct the concerning lack of federal oversight and protect public health and the safety of the food supply. If passed, California would be the first state to have such a law.
