"Pentagon Monitors New High-Altitude Balloon in Western US"
TL;DR
U.S. officials are tracking a high-altitude balloon floating over the Rocky Mountains, just over a year after a suspected Chinese spy balloon was shot down. The balloon, spotted over Colorado and intercepted by NORAD fighters over Utah, is not believed to be maneuverable and does not pose a threat to national security. Its purpose and origin remain a mystery, but it is expected to travel eastward over the Great Plains. This incident renews tensions between Beijing and Washington following the previous spy balloon encounter.
