Supreme Court to rule on public officials blocking social media users.

The US Supreme Court will decide whether public officials can be sued for blocking people on social media, which could have a broad impact on how lower courts handle such cases. The court took up two separate cases involving two members of the Poway Unified School District Board of Trustees in southern California and the city manager of Port Huron, Michigan. The legal dispute is whether blocking someone on social media can give rise to a free speech violation under the Constitution’s First Amendment.
