Supreme Court Upholds State Registration Law for Businesses.

The Supreme Court upheld a Pennsylvania law that requires companies to face litigants within its borders when they register to do business there, leaving room for a different constitutional challenge in the future. The fractured 5-4 decision said the Pennsylvania Supreme Court has to take another look at a lawsuit a former employee of Norfolk Southern Railway Co. wants to bring against the company in a state where it’s not based. Justice Samuel Alito seemed to invite a future challenge against the law in his concurrence.
