"2022 Deadly Blaze Site Threatened as Northern California Fire Forces Evacuations"

Evacuations have been ordered in Northern California as a wildfire, known as the Head Fire, rapidly spreads through the Klamath National Forest near the Oregon border. The fire, one of at least 19 fires ignited by thunderstorms in the area, has grown to 4.7 to 6.3 square miles in size. The blaze has prompted evacuation orders for several areas, with spot fires jumping the Klamath River. No injuries or homes burned have been reported so far. The fire is burning near the site of the deadly McKinney Fire from last year, which claimed four lives and destroyed the community of Klamath River.
