Houston Chosen as Host City for 2028 Republican National Convention

The Republican National Committee (RNC) has announced that Houston will host the party's 2028 presidential convention, a decision made well ahead of the usual schedule. RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel expressed excitement about Houston being in the spotlight in 2028. This choice deviates from recent convention locations, with Milwaukee hosting in 2024 and Cleveland in 2016. Houston was chosen over contenders such as Dallas, Miami, Nashville, and Jacksonville. The RNC had authorized committee members to select a convention city over six years in advance.
