Supreme Court's Abortion Pill Rulings Cause Controversy and Concern.

Over 250 Democratic lawmakers filed an amicus brief urging the Supreme Court to block "dangerous" restrictions on access to abortion pills. The brief supports the Biden administration's appeal to uphold the FDA's approval of mifepristone, one of two approved abortion pills in the country. The FDA's approval of mifepristone was jeopardized after a U.S. District Judge suspended the approval of the pill, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit upheld certain restrictions on it. The lawmakers argued that the rulings do not have any basis in law, could cause patients throughout the country to be denied access to mifepristone, and undermine the FDA's drug approval process.
