American Support for Legal Medication Abortion Remains Strong Despite Recent Challenges.

A new survey by Pew Research Center shows that more Americans believe medication abortion should be legal than illegal in their state. The survey also found that there are stark partisan divides in views of abortion pills, with 73% of Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents saying medication abortion should be legal in their state, while only 35% of Republicans and GOP leaners say the same. Younger adults are more likely than older Americans to say medication abortion should be legal in their state, and there are also sizable ideological gaps within the parties.
