LA's Metro Regional Connector finally opens with free rides and new stations.

The long-awaited Metro Regional Connector in downtown Los Angeles has opened, connecting three light rail lines into two and providing a seamless one-seat ride for commuters. The $1.8 billion project includes three underground stations and is expected to shave off commuting time for Metro riders. To celebrate the opening, Metro is offering free rides on all trains, buses, Metro Bike, and Metro Micro through the weekend. The new connector eliminates the need for train-hopping and transfers, making it easier and more convenient for people to cross L.A. County on Metro rail.
