Devastating Floods Ravage Northeast, Leaving Destruction in Their Wake

Heavy rain has caused flooding in parts of the Northeast, with Vermont and New York state declaring states of emergency. The National Weather Service predicts major, moderate, and minor flooding in New England, with some gauges near flooding. However, there is no major precipitation forecasted, allowing the already flooded rivers to recede. Lake Champlain and the Connecticut River are expected to rise, with the river already in flood as far south as Holyoke, Massachusetts.
