Chicago Braces for More Severe Storms Wednesday After Tuesday’s Outages
TL;DR
Chicago is forecast to see a line of severe storms Wednesday (9 a.m.–2 p.m.) with damaging winds, heavy rainfall and frequent lightning, and a brief tornado cannot be ruled out south of the city. The setup follows Tuesday’s storms that caused widespread outages and three Illinois tornadoes; Illinois has logged over 200 tornadoes in 2026. The National Weather Service urges residents to have multiple ways to receive warnings and seek shelter if a warning is issued.
