A tornado hit Delaware, causing at least one death and widespread residential damage. The storm system, which has left nearly two dozen dead in the South and Midwest, moved into the Northeast, with severe weather possible for Pennsylvania, New York, and northern New Jersey. A severe thunderstorm watch was issued for New York City and parts of western Connecticut, western Massachusetts, and northern New Jersey. Blizzard warnings were issued for South Dakota and Minnesota, while a winter storm warning stretched from Nebraska to Minneapolis and into Wisconsin and Michigan.
