Severe storms with hurricane-force winds in Louisville caused a multi-day power restoration event, affecting about 120,000 LG&E and KU customers and resulting in nearly 1,000 downed wires. Around 700 workers from surrounding states are assisting in the restoration efforts. One person died after being hit by a tree. The National Weather Service is conducting damage surveys, with initial findings indicating at least an EF1 tornado in some areas.
