Late season lake effect snow hits Northeastern US.

Portions of Northeast Ohio were impacted by accumulating lake effect snow on Sunday, with winter weather alerts in effect for Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga, and Ashtabula counties. The National Weather Service warned of hazardous travel conditions due to snow-covered roads, and ODOT had over 125 trucks on the roads to clear snow. The band of lake effect snow was expected to become less organized as it moved inland throughout the morning. Snow totals of 5 to 9 inches were common in the primary snowbelt area.
