Missouri Hit by Severe Tornadoes and Hail Storms.

Springfield activated its outdoor warning sirens Sunday afternoon due to a tornado warning and golf ball-size hail reports around the area. There were no immediate confirmed reports of a tornado, though radar detected a possible circulation near the Auburn/Virden area moving eastwards. Some areas of Springfield were also under a tornado warning beginning at 3:12 p.m. High winds and hail were reported in Divernon, Chatham and Auburn, which were under a tornado warning earlier Sunday. Springfield and the surrounding area, extending from Pleasant Plains to Divernon, is under a flash flood warning until 11:30 p.m.
