North Texas Braces for Severe Weather with Tornado Watch and Thunderstorms

A tornado watch has been issued for 33 North and Central Texas counties, including Collin, Dallas, Denton, Tarrant, and Rockwall, until 10 p.m. on Thursday. The National Weather Service has warned of isolated to scattered storms in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, with an increased risk for severe storms in cities to the north, such as Paris and Gainesville. The greatest threats will be large hail, damaging winds up to 70 mph, and the possibility of tornadoes. Additionally, a heat advisory has been issued until 8 p.m. Friday for more than a dozen counties, including Dallas and Tarrant, with temperatures expected to reach triple digits for the first time this year.
