"Severe Storms Cause Widespread Power Outages and Flooding Across Northeast"

The Northeast experienced heavy rain, flash flood warnings, and power outages, leaving over half a million customers without power. Coastal areas of Maryland were hit by flooding, and stormy weather has resulted in five deaths across the country. River flooding and evacuations were reported in Connecticut, while extreme winter weather continues in wide swaths of the country. An Arctic front is expected to bring some of the coldest temperatures of the winter season to the northern Plains region.
