Severe storms threaten Texas with hail and damaging winds.

A storm system approaching the Houston area from the north and west may bring high winds and damaging hail to the region Thursday night, with the worst of the system expected to reach as far east as College Station and a few cities north and west of the loop. The Brazos Valley west of the Houston area faces the highest chances for severe weather on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. High temperatures are expected to hover around the mid-80s during the day Thursday, with overnight lows only dipping into the low-70s.
