Severe thunderstorms and heavy rain expected in Georgia this week.

A tornado watch has been extended to parts of Georgia, including Heard, Meriwether, and Troup counties, until 7 p.m. Strong storms with damaging wind gusts, hail, and the threat of spin-up tornadoes are expected to move through metro Atlanta Wednesday afternoon. Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has issued a statement urging everyone to remain weather aware and take necessary precautions. A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued in Haralson and Carroll counties until 1:45 p.m.
