Severe tornado threat looms over Southeastern US.

Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia are at risk for several tornadoes, including a few strong tornadoes of EF-2 intensity or greater, on Sunday into Sunday night. The Storm Prediction Center has placed the region from northeastern Louisiana to southern Alabama at a “moderate risk” for severe thunderstorms Sunday. Communities in the region with the highest risk for tornadoes Sunday include Jackson and Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Auburn, Alabama, and Alexandria, Louisiana. The long-lived, devastating tornado that caused extreme damage in communities such as Rolling Fork and Silver City, Mississippi, on Friday night has received a preliminary intensity rating of EF-4, with winds of between 166 mph to 200 mph.
