"Severe Weather Alert: Heavy Rain, Flooding, and Snow Potential for D.C.-Area"

A flood watch is in effect for the D.C. region as heavy rain is expected throughout Sunday and into the night. Temperatures will be mild, reaching the upper 50s to low 60s during the day. There is a possibility of rain changing to snow and sleet late tonight, but temperatures should be too warm for accumulation. Rain totals of 1.5 to 3 inches are expected. The rain or wintry mix will end by Monday morning, with windy conditions and highs in the mid-40s. Seasonably cool temperatures will continue into midweek.
