Spring storm brings rare tornadoes and snow to Southern California.

Southern California experienced an unseasonably cold storm that brought snow to the mountains, heavy rain, and two small tornadoes. The National Weather Service issued winter weather advisories for mountain ranges across three counties, with the highest peaks expected to receive up to 14 inches of snow. The storm caused minor damage to buildings, vehicles, and trees, but no injuries were reported. The state of California has experienced an exceptionally wet winter, which has helped to alleviate the drought, but the major melt of the massive snowpack has yet to occur.
