Houston and southeastern Texas are bracing for a flash flooding threat on Mother's Day due to relentless rainfall that has already caused flooding and water rescues. The National Weather Service has issued Flood Watches and Warnings across the region, with up to 8 inches of rain possible through Monday. The flash flood risk will continue through Tuesday, with areas outside of Houston also at risk. The heavy rainfall is due to moisture being pulled north from the Gulf of Mexico, and some areas could see between 3 and 5 inches of additional rain.
