"Tornado Watch: Iowa Counties Brace for Severe Weather Until 8 p.m."

A tornado watch is in effect until 8 p.m. for about two dozen counties in Iowa, including Benton, Boone, Polk, Story, and Webster. Tornado warnings have been issued for northeastern Polk and northwestern Jasper counties, as well as northwestern Story County and northeastern Boone County. The National Weather Service advises residents to take cover in a basement or interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building and to protect themselves from flying debris.
