Tropical Storm Bret Threatens Caribbean Islands with Strong Winds and Rain

Tropical Storm Bret is expected to bring heavy flooding and strong winds to the Caribbean by Thursday, with tropical storm watches issued in Barbados, St Lucia and Dominica. The storm is unlikely to hit the US and may not strengthen to a hurricane as previously suggested. Residents of the Lesser Antilles, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Island have been warned to brace for stormy conditions. Bret is the third tropical storm of this year and a rare type of storm for this early in the hurricane season.
