Texas State Parks will offer prime viewing opportunities for the annular solar eclipse on October 14. Entry to state parks on the day of the eclipse will be restricted to those who pre-purchased day passes or camping permits. The eclipse will pass over Texas from Midland/Odessa to Corpus Christi, and 17 state parks will be along its path. The moon will begin blocking the sun around 10:20 a.m., with the ring of fire becoming visible around 11:40 a.m. State parks recommend arriving early, bringing supplies, parking in designated areas, and attending ranger-led programs.
