Unexplained Astronomical Tracks: A New Window into the Universe

Anomalous "tracks" appearing in images taken by the Subaru Telescope in Hawaii, previously dismissed as noise, have been identified as evidence of collisions between cosmic rays and the Earth's atmosphere. These collisions create extensive air showers, which could provide insights into the nature of dark matter and other exotic particles. By analyzing over 17,000 images captured between 2014 and 2020, researchers discovered 13 images containing evidence of extensive air showers. This discovery opens up new possibilities for studying cosmic rays and advancing our understanding of the Universe.
