"Pizzlies: A Troubling Sign for the Arctic's Future"

Pizzlies, also known as grolar bears, are hybrid bears born from the interbreeding of grizzly bears and polar bears. Climate change is increasing the likelihood of these hybridizations as melting habitats push polar bears further south and grizzly bears further north, causing their ranges to overlap. Scientists are concerned that continued hybridization could lead to the extinction of polar bears as they are absorbed into the general grizzly population.
