A study conducted in Australia found that regular golfers face a 250% higher risk of developing skin cancer compared to non-golfers. Over a quarter of golfers surveyed had been diagnosed with skin cancer, likely due to repeated sun exposure and inadequate sunscreen use. The study did not collect data on actual levels of UV radiation exposure, but prolonged sun exposure and lack of skin protection strategies were identified as potential factors. Skin cancer is a significant concern, with one in every three cancers worldwide being skin-related.
